Concessional Licensing

Discover how concessional licensing can enhance your car club experience by offering  cost savings.

Understanding Concessional Licensing

The concessional licensing scheme provides car club members with reduced registration fees and special conditions for their classic vehicles. This initiative is designed to encourage the preservation of historic cars by making it more affordable for enthusiasts to maintain and enjoy their vehicles. As a member of the Mini Owners Club of WA, you can take advantage of this scheme to keep your beloved Mini on the road while enjoying significant savings. Our club is dedicated to supporting our members in navigating the application process and ensuring they meet all necessary requirements.

Concessional Licensing Fees

We ONLY offer Concessional Vehicle Licencing – Dept of Transport (DoT) Code 404

In Western Australia, the concessional registration of eligible Historic Vehicles is subject to arrangements negotiated between the Department of Transport and the Council of Motoring Clubs of WA. As an eligible member, the Mini Owners Club of WA is able to make concessional registration Code 404 available to its members.

Currently licensed vehicles within WA are NOT required to undergo an inspection prior to applying for the 404 concession. The owner simply takes the current licence papers, a copy of their club financial letter (form CMC1) and completed form E81 to any Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) Centre. Note: Your signature must be witnessed – hence do not sign before attending the Licensing Centre. The counter staff can witness your signature on the E81.

You will require this form if you want to change your current licensed vehicle to a concessional licence.

Different types of Concessional Licensing

There is more than one way to get a reduced license fee for your old classic car.  The table below provides a brief overview of the three most applicable, what the discount is and the conditions that need to be followed.

Please note that the Mini Owners Club of WA is registered with CMC and DoT for Code 404 concession vehicles only.

Code 404 is the best fit for our club.  The aim is to uphold originality within reason, rather extreme mods and conversions.
